In order to fulfill a demand for traditional Island music, the steel band combo Island Ed's Steel Drum Band was born. The combo, composed of four graduates from Miami University, specialize in authentic Island music rooted in traditional Trinidadian, Latin American, and Brazilian styles. Additionally, transcriptions of contemporary pop music from the United States round out their repertoire. Reflecting the philosophy of the Islands, their steel pan music, ranges from laid back and relaxed to a hot limbo contest. Ensemble instrumentation includes: one lead pan, a set of double tenor pans, a bass guitar, and a drum set. With over 25 years of combined steel drum band experience, their unique Caribbean music has entertained crowds ranging from private parties to wedding receptions to corporate events. Island Ed & His Fiery Limbo Revue will provide an energetic, infectious show, heating up any event and scorching it into the memory of a good time for all that witness the performance.
