Brad
Rosser (Drums):
Growing up in a small town
in central
Ohio
it was clear to everyone at an early age that Brad Rosser would pursue
drumming. Starting with lessons in the second grade Brad maintained a relentless
practice schedule that paid dividends when performing in every type of band and
ensemble imaginable as a youngster. The practicing was so constant that when his
parents received compliments that their son was an excellent drummer they
responded, “why, can you hear him practice all the way over at your house
too.” Fortunately, his parents were very supportive and agreed to drive Brad
an hour each way to enlist the help of professional drummer Chad Rager (Deniece
Williams, Charles Earland, Roger Williams).
Under the supervision of Chad Rager, a foundation of limb independence was
developed as well as a love for Big Band Drumming. While in High school Brad
performed in the Kenyon College Jazz Band, Mount Vernon Nazarene College Jazz
Band, in addition to his High School Jazz Band at Mount Vernon High where Brad
won several outstanding musician awards from the Ashland University Jazz
Festival as well as the outstanding musician award from his High School.
After High School Brad moved on to
Miami
University
where he played in the University Steel Drum band under the direction of Dr.
Chris Tanner. Dr. Tanner and the Steel Drum Band offered Brad a unique
opportunity to explore many different kinds of World Music. To this day Brad
continues to perform with his steel drum combo, Island
Ed and His Fiery Limbo Revue, based out of
Cincinnati
. (www.island-ed.com)
In addition to the steel drum combo Brad performed with
Columbus
Ohio
rock band Fenster. Hailing from
Columbus
,
Ohio
, Fenster invigorated audiences across
the
Midwest
with energetic, horn-driven rock. The six-member band, famed for its
distinctive sound, combined super smooth vocals, powerful guitar and bass, and a
dynamic beat, with the red-hot intensity of its horn section, to create original
songs that set the region on fire. Coupled
with a slick stage show, Fenster proved that it was a musical force to be
reckoned with until the group split in 2004 to pursue other projects.
After Fenster, Brad teamed up to play with the rock band Introspect.
Introspect just recently released an EP titled For All to See and has performed to many large audiences. The
single, The Journey recently charted
at number 2 on alternative addiction and Introspect plans to release a full
length album in the fall.
In addition to many
performances, Brad as a teacher has enjoyed much success and maintains many
students who he instructs in everything from snare drum technique and rudiments
to drumset technique covering many different styles of music.
Brad is also very proud
to endorse and play exclusively Trick Drums and Attack Drumheads.
